A Different Kind of Newport

I spent some time in Newport, Rhode Island last week.

When one says "Newport" I immediately think California. I immediately think home. But I loved RI's rendition of Newport and it's east coast vibes.

I was only there for a few days for a work trip but I made sure my time was well spent. The city was a small, quiet and filled with beauty.  I would certainly love to visit again.

I woke up at 5am on one of the days to soak in all of the coastal views.

My photos below:

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. The cool thing about Newport, Rhode Island is that you can catch both the rise and fall reflected on the ocean water. I caught this on a run at 530am. I had no idea where I was going but I knew there was a beach on the other side of the city with which I assumed would have a beautiful sunrise view. I kept running and exploring until I found this.

After the sunrise, I headed back to my hotel which faced west. As the skies shifted from black to blue, the water did the same. It was one of the most calming and truest moments I had experienced.

Daytime in Newport during early spring days means yellow daffodils and bright blue skies.

The sunset behind the hotel.

Go visit and stay at 41 North! You wont be disappointed.
